Warranty Terms: Harvia Kuusi 240 View Canopy
The Kuusi 240 View Canopy is a high-performance, tension-based structure. To ensure the 40mm solid spruce and panoramic glass elements maintain their integrity over decades of thermal cycling, this covenant defines the mandatory care standards required to activate and maintain your warranty.
1. The Coverage Framework
Your warranty is a partnership between Balance Recovery and your adherence to the engineering protocols of a barrel structure.
2. The "High-Safety" Foundation Mandate
Because the Kuusi 240 carries a Total Dynamic Operating Load of 1,003 kg (1 Tonne), the structural warranty is strictly contingent upon:
-
The Foundation: A stable, non-shifting base (mandated 100mm–150mm reinforced concrete or structural-grade timber decking).
-
Point-Load Precision: The three wooden cradles must be supported on a perfectly level plane (to within 2mm).
-
Exclusion: Any structural failure, including glass door misalignment or panoramic seal leaks caused by the foundation "sinking" or "springing," is excluded from coverage.
3. The "Seashell" Tension Requirement (Critical)
Unlike a square cabin, a barrel sauna requires active mechanical adjustment during its "seasoning" period.
-
Mandatory Tensioning: As the 40mm spruce staves are subjected to the intense heat of the 9kW heater, they will shrink slightly.
-
The Requirement: The customer must inspect and, if necessary, tighten the stainless steel compression hoops after the first 5 sessions (and at 6-month intervals thereafter).
-
Exclusion: Water ingress or stave separation resulting from a failure to maintain hoop tension is considered a maintenance oversight and is not a structural defect.
4. Electrical & Hardware Validation
-
Professional Certification: To claim on any electrical hardware, the customer must present a valid Electrical Installation Certificate (EIC) issued by a registered professional.
-
The Silicone Mandate: The use of non-silicone (PVC/Arctic) cabling inside the high-heat envelope voids all electrical warranties immediately. SiHF-JB Silicone cable is the only permitted material.
-
Over-Firing (Wood-Burning): Damage to the stove or staves caused by "over-firing" (burning coal, treated timber, or waste) is not covered.
5. Environmental Stewardship (The 7-Day Rule)
The Kuusi 240 must be "locked" against the elements within 7 days of assembly:
-
External Treatment: The 40mm spruce must be treated with a high-quality UV-resistant wood oil.
-
The Roof: Bitumen shingles must be installed as per the technical guide to protect the upper curvature of the barrel.
Timber "checking" (natural surface cracks) or warping caused by a failure to seal the building within this 7-day window will void the structural warranty.
6. Understanding the Living Material
Saunas operate in an environment of extreme thermal stress.
-
Natural Variation: Minor resin exudation, surface checking, and color maturation are natural characteristics of Nordic Spruce and do not constitute a defect.
-
The Interior: The interior wood must remain untreated to allow the timber to breathe. Applying any oils or stains to the internal benches or walls will void the interior warranty.
