2. Phase One: Foundation & Site Prep

The "Large" model is significantly heavier than standard garden saunas.

• Total Static Load: Approx. 2,500 kg (Structure + Heater + Stones + 7 Occupants).
• Requirement: A steel-reinforced concrete pad (min 150mm thickness) is the only recommended base. Standard garden decking or paving slabs are likely to fail or shift under this 2.5-tonne load.
• Precision: The base must be perfectly level to ensure the 110mm wall elements and oversized insulating glass panels align correctly.

3. Logistics & Arrival (The 2-Tonne Reality)

Offloading and moving the Alpina View Large requires professional coordination.

• The Crate: Arrives as an oversized, weather-wrapped pallet with a Gross Weight of approx. 1,950 kg.
• Offloading: Standard tail-lift vehicles cannot offload this unit. A Hiab (crane arm) vehicle or a high-capacity forklift/telehandler is mandatory for offloading.
• Access: Ensure your site can accommodate a 26-tonne delivery vehicle. There must be a clear, firm, and level path from the drop point to the base.
• The 24-Hour Inspection: You must inspect the insulating glass panels for transit damage within 24 hours of delivery to validate warranty coverage.

4. Phase Two: Choose Your Heat Source

Provision of the electrical supply is the sole responsibility of the customer.

• The Mandate: You must consult a qualified, registered electrician to plan and install your power supply.
• Judgment: You must always defer to your electrician’s professional judgment regarding your property's main fuse capacity and cable requirements.
• Internal Specification: For the 11.0kW system, all internal wiring must be SiHF-JB high-temperature silicone (rated to 180°C). Use of standard PVC wiring will void your warranty.

The provision of a safe, compliant, and adequate electrical supply is the sole responsibility of the property owner. This document is a technical brief for guidance only. You must consult a qualified, registered electrician to plan and execute all works. You must always defer to your electrician’s professional judgment regarding local wiring regulations, cable sizing, and your property’s total electrical load capacity.

1. The Power Profiles

Your electrician must identify which heating system is being installed, as the infrastructure requirements differ drastically between the two:

PROPOSAL 1: Wood-Burning (Harvia Linear 18)

• Purpose: Powers internal LED atmosphere lighting and sensors only.
• Total Load: < 1.0 Amp.
• Protection: Typically a 6-Amp or 10-Amp lighting circuit.
• Note: While the heat is provided by wood, the "View Large" dual-room layout requires electrical wiring for lighting in both the sauna and the vestibule.

PROPOSAL 2: 11.0kW Electric (Harvia Cilindro 110E)

• Purpose: Powers the 11.0kW heating elements and the Xenio/Fenix 100 digital hub.
• Total Load: Approx. 47.8 Amps (Single Phase).
• Protection: Requires a dedicated 50-Amp Type B RCBO.
• Electrician Note: Please perform a Domestic Load Audit. Ensure the property’s main service fuse can accommodate this 11kW load alongside existing high-draw appliances (EV chargers, electric showers, etc.).

2. The "Dual-Zone" Wiring Requirement

Because the Alpina View Large features a separate Vestibule (Changing Room), the electrician must plan for:

• Zone A (Sauna): High-temperature lighting and the 11kW heater connection.
• Zone B (Vestibule): Standard-temperature lighting and the mounting of the digital control panel.

3. Materials & Safety Standards

• External Supply: We recommend SWA (Steel Wire Armoured) cable. For 11kW runs exceeding 20 metres, your electrician must calculate the correct cable cross-section to minimize Voltage Drop.
• Internal Mandatory Material: SiHF-JB Silicone Cable (rated to 180°C) is mandatory for all wiring entering the sauna envelope. Standard PVC or "Arctic" cable will melt, pose a fire risk, and void all hardware warranties.
• Isolation: A weatherproof rotary isolator switch must be installed externally, accessible for maintenance and emergency shut-off.

4. Boundary of Works & Certification

• Our Team: We mount the hardware and provide the silicone "tails" ready for connection.
• Your Electrician: Responsible for the SWA run from the consumer unit, the final "live" terminations into the Harvia Power Unit, and system testing.
• Sign-off: Upon completion, your electrician must issue an Electrical Installation Certificate (EIC). We recommend keeping a copy of this to validate your 2-year warranty.

The Alpina View Large is a high-performance architectural structure. Unlike standard saunas, this model utilises 110mm insulated wall elements and a dual-room configuration. To protect your investment and ensure a precision build, the following site standards are non-negotiable.

1. Phase One: The Foundation (Engineering for 2.5 Tonnes)

The footprint of the Alpina Large (3.51m x 2.28m) creates significant "point loading."

• The Standard: A steel-reinforced concrete pad (minimum thickness of 150mm) is required.
• The Tolerance: The base must be level to within 2mm across the entire 3.5m span. If the base is not level, the 110mm insulated wall elements will not lock correctly, and the oversized glass panels will be under dangerous structural stress.
• The Subsidence Rule: Groundworks must be fully cured and stable before delivery. Any shifting of the ground post-installation will void the structural warranty.

2. Phase Two: Logistics & Specialist Offloading

Standard kerbside delivery is not possible for this model due to the 1,950kg gross crate weight.

• Specialist Equipment: Delivery requires a Hiab (crane arm) vehicle or a high-capacity forklift. It is the customer's responsibility to ensure that such equipment can access the property and safely offload the 2-tonne crate.
• Turning Circle: Your site must accommodate a 26-tonne delivery vehicle.
• 24-Hour Inspection: Upon offloading, the two fixed insulating glass windows (1476 x 561 mm) must be inspected. Any transit damage must be reported within 24 hours to initiate a warranty claim.

3. Phase Three: The Electrical Supply (Customer Responsibility)

The provision of a safe, compliant power supply is the sole responsibility of the customer.

• The Requirement: For the 11.0kW Cilindro system, a dedicated 50-Amp radial circuit is typically required.
• Mandatory Consultation: You must consult a qualified, registered electrician. You must always defer to their professional judgment regarding your property’s load capacity and the required SWA cable sizing.
• Internal Wiring: All connections inside the 13.13 m³ thermal envelope must be SiHF-JB high-temperature silicone cable. Standard house wiring is a fire risk in this environment and will void all warranties.

4. Phase Four: Structural Assembly & Sealing

The Alpina Large features a specialised "Dual-Room" seal.

• Wall Elements: The 110mm insulated panels must be joined in accordance with the manufacturer’s sequence to maintain the thermal vapour barrier.
• The 7-Day Weatherproofing Rule: To activate the structural warranty, the following must be completed within 7 days of assembly:
1. Roofing: Installation of a professional Bitumen or EPDM roofing membrane.
2. Exterior Seal: Treatment of all exterior spruce with a UV-resistant wood oil to prevent moisture absorption.

1. The Coverage Tiers

The precision of the installation determines your warranty period:

• Pathway A: Professional Installation Service
• 2-Year Comprehensive Structural Warranty: Covers the 110mm insulated wall elements, the integrity of the vestibule-to-sauna seal, and the seating of the oversized insulating glass.
• 2-Year Harvia Hardware Warranty: Covers the 11.0kW Cilindro/Fenix system or the Linear 18 Wood-Burning stove.
• Pathway B: Independent Contractor / Self-Assembly
• 1-Year Parts-Only Warranty: Covers Harvia hardware components only.
• Note: The structural integrity, thermal vapour barrier, and weather-sealing are the sole liability of the third-party installer.

2. The Foundation & Glass Mandate

Because the "View Large" carries a static load of 2.5 tonnes, the structural warranty is strictly contingent upon:

• The Base: A 150mm reinforced concrete pad, level to within 2mm.
• Subsidence: Any structural failure (glass cracking, door misalignment, or wall separation) caused by ground movement or an inadequate base is excluded from coverage.
• Transit Inspection: Any imperfections in the 1476mm insulating glass windows must be reported within 24 hours of delivery.

3. Electrical & Wood-Burning Compliance

The provision of utilities is the customer's responsibility. * Electric (11kW): To maintain the hardware warranty, you must provide proof of an Electrical Installation Certificate (EIC) upon request.

• The Silicone Rule: Using standard PVC wiring inside the thermal envelope immediately voids all electrical warranties. SiHF-JB Silicone cable (180°C) is the only permitted material.
• Wood-Burning: The Linear 18 stove warranty requires the use of the official Harvia chimney kit and protective bedding. Damage caused by "over-firing" (burning treated wood, coal, or rubbish) is not covered.

4. Mandatory "7-Day Activation" (Weatherproofing)

As a high-performance outdoor building, the Alpina Large must be "locked" against the elements within 7 days of assembly:

1. External Treatment: All exterior spruce surfaces must be treated with a UV-resistant wood oil.
2. The Roof: A professional Bitumen or EPDM membrane must be installed.

Water damage or timber "checking" resulting from a failure to seal the building within this 7-day window will void the structural warranty.

5. Thermal Stewardship & Maintenance

• The Vapour Barrier: Any modifications to the 110mm insulated walls (e.g., drilling for external hooks/lights) must be professionally sealed to prevent moisture from entering the insulation core.
• Stone Management: Sauna stones must be inspected every 6 months. "Settled" stones must be re-piled to allow airflow; failure to do so causes 11kW element burnout, which is considered a maintenance issue rather than a defect.
• Vestibule Care: The vestibule is a transition zone. Ensure the internal pine surfaces are kept dry to prevent localised humidity issues.

1. Eligibility — The Made-to-Order Nature of Your Purchase

• Made to Order: Harvia products are made to order and enter production once your order is confirmed.
• Non-Refundable Once Production Begins: Because each item is commissioned specifically for you, orders are non-refundable once production has begun. We cannot accept returns or refunds for a "change of mind" from that point.
• Special Orders, Saunas and Hot Tubs: Special orders, saunas and hot tubs are non-returnable unless under warranty.
• Accuracy: Please verify all site dimensions, specifications and technical requirements before finalising your order.

2. Order Cancellations and Amendments

• Cancellation Window: You may cancel or amend your order at any time before production begins.
• Once Production Begins: After production has started, the order is non-refundable and cancellations cannot be facilitated.
• Accuracy Check: Amendments after order placement are subject to confirmation and may not be possible once your specification has been released to manufacture.

3. Reporting Transit Damage or Missing Items

• Inspect on Delivery: Check all items carefully as soon as they arrive, and note any visible damage on the delivery paperwork.
• Timeframe: Report any transit damage or missing parts promptly — within 24 to 48 hours of delivery.
• Evidence: Email contact@balancerecovery.co.uk with clear photographic or video evidence of the damage or shortage, together with your order details.

4. Claim and Assessment Procedure

• Submission: Send your report, proof of purchase and delivery date, and supporting photographs or video to contact@balancerecovery.co.uk.
• Assessment: We assess each claim and, where required, liaise with the manufacturer to confirm the fault or shortage.
• Outcome: Once assessed, we coordinate the appropriate remedy — repair, replacement of parts, full replacement or refund — in accordance with the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

5. Refund and Replacement Conditions

• Covered Circumstances: Refunds or replacements are provided only where goods are defective, damaged in transit or not as described.
• Not Covered: Change of mind, incorrect measurement or specification supplied by the customer, and normal characteristics of natural materials are not grounds for return once production has begun.
• Remedy: Where a valid fault is confirmed, we arrange repair, replacement or refund as appropriate under your statutory rights.

6. Statutory Rights and Compliance

• Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013: Bespoke and made-to-order goods are legally exempt from the standard 14-day cooling-off period for distance selling.
• Consumer Rights Act 2015: Goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. Your statutory rights for faulty, damaged-in-transit or misdescribed goods remain fully protected, regardless of the made-to-order exemption above.
