The Exterior: Striking Lines and Sheltered Serenity
The exterior of this custom build is defined by its smooth, refined finish and robust architectural presence.
The Thermo Alder Masterpiece
Unlike many builds that reserve premium woods solely for the interior, this structure's entire exterior is clad in high-end Thermo Alder. This makes the piece uniquely captivating; the thermal modification process gives the wood a rich, deeply luxurious hue while providing unparalleled stability and weather resistance. It allows the architecture's smooth, sleek lines to remain pristine year after year.
Reinforced Pillars and All-Weather Canopy
The structure is handsomely framed by reinforced pillars that support a sprawling, reinforced ceiling over the exterior decking. This unique architectural statement creates an oversized, sheltered cooling-off area. It provides a dedicated space for multiple users to step outside, breathe in the fresh air, and cool down between thermal cycles, fully protected across all seasons and weather conditions.
Strategic Privacy and Sleek Glass
To ensure ultimate comfort, we integrated a specialised architectural privacy layer around the exterior cooling deck, creating a secluded space for guests to relax. Contrasting with this privacy is a brilliantly clean, floor-to-ceiling clear-glass front wall on the sauna itself, drawing natural light into the cabin and creating a beautiful visual connection between the hot room and the sheltered lounge.
The Interior: Visual Harmony and Vertical Space
Transitioning through the sleek glass front reveals a remarkably spacious, six-person interior engineered for absolute visual harmony and deep relaxation.
Fluted Consistency
The client desired a highly cohesive, rhythmic aesthetic. We achieved this by utilising meticulously crafted fluted panels across every surface—the ceiling, the back wall, the expansive benches, and even the interior door finish. This consistent, ribbed texture draws the eye continuously around the room, creating a deeply calming, unified visual flow that feels incredibly high-end.
The Grand High Ceiling
One of the most striking features of this room is the exceptionally high ceiling. In the realm of bespoke outdoor saunas, a soaring ceiling adds a profound sense of grandeur and uncrowded openness. Therapeutically, it also allows for a highly dynamic heat gradient (the löyly pocket), providing occupants with a large volume of warm air and more vertical space to find their ideal temperature zone.
The Heart of the Heat: The HUUM Drop & UKU Wi-Fi
To power this expansive sanctuary, we installed the stunning 9kW HUUM Drop heater, paired with a state-of-the-art control system.
A Different Type of Heat
Inspired by the pure, organic shape of a water drop, the HUUM heater is a floorl-mounted masterpiece that holds a massive volume of exposed stones. This design delivers a remarkably soft, long-lasting, and deeply penetrating radiant heat, offering a distinct and highly therapeutic experience compared to traditional enclosed heaters.
Effortless Luxury
The experience is entirely managed by the elegant UKU Wi-Fi black glass control unit. This brings ultimate modern luxury to the traditional sweat bath. The client can effortlessly pre-heat their sanctuary from their smartphone while wrapping up dinner or heading home from work. Once inside, adjusting the climate is as simple as a smooth turn of the sleek black glass dial—an effortless interaction that ensures the focus remains entirely on melting away stress.
