Soft Shell Chambers

A soft shell hyperbaric chamber is a portable, inflatable enclosure designed for Mild Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (mHBOT). Unlike rigid hospital units, these chambers are constructed from high-strength, non-toxic TPU or PVC materials that are sealed with heavy-duty zippers.

• The Process: The chamber uses an air compressor to fill the bag with filtered ambient air, pressurising it to a safe level (typically 1.3 ATA to 1.5 ATA).
• The Oxygen: While inside, you breathe concentrated oxygen (90–97% purity) through a comfortable face mask or headset, which is supplied by a separate oxygen concentrator. • Control: Crucially, you are never "locked" in. The pressure release valves and zippers can be operated from the inside, giving you full control to exit the chamber whenever you wish.

The sensation is very similar to the take-off or landing of an aeroplane. As the chamber pressurises (usually over 5–10 minutes), you may feel a "fullness" in your ears. This is perfectly normal and can be relieved by swallowing, yawning, or using the Valsalva manoeuvre (pinching your nose and blowing gently). Once the chamber reaches its target pressure (e.g., 1.3 ATA), the sensation stops, and you can relax normally.
