Delivery & Installation Protocol: Hanscraft Quadra X
This document outlines the Structural Mandates for the successful commissioning of your Hanscraft Quadra X. Whether you have commissioned the Balance Recovery Professional Team or are utilising Independent Contractors, these specifications must be met to ensure the architectural integrity and warranty of the sanctuary.
1. The Foundation Mandate (Pre-Arrival)
Engineering the base for long-term structural stability.
The Quadra X is a precision-engineered structure. The longevity of the 40mm Thermo Pine and the alignment of the 8mm glazing depend entirely on the host surface.

Load-Bearing Capacity: The foundation must be engineered to withstand a minimum of 1.2 Tonnes (1,150kg). This accounts for the 650kg dry weight, the stone-loaded 9kW heater, and maximum occupancy.

Surface Tolerance: The base must be perfectly level. Even minor gradients can lead to frame stress, which affects the door seal and glass longevity.

Approved Materials: We recommend a reinforced concrete pad, heavy-duty paving stones, or structurally engineered decking.

The Assembly Perimeter: A minimum 600mm (2ft) clear working zone is required around the entire perimeter. This space is essential for the structural interlocking of the timber walls and the mandatory application of protective oils.
2. Logistics & Integrated Assistance
The transition from transit to installation site.
On the scheduled delivery day, the focus shifts to safely handling the premium components.

Secure Arrival: The sauna arrives securely palletised and weather-wrapped.

Integrated Assistance: Standard delivery is kerbside. However, if property access permits it, our logistics crew will position the pallet as close to the foundation as possible. (Subject to additional costs)

Component Transfer: To ensure the safety of the 8mm glass and the precision-milled timber, our team will assist in manually carrying the individual components from the pallet directly to the designated installation site.

The 24-Hour Inspection Window: Once components are on-site, a full inventory check is required. Any transit-related damage must be reported within 24 hours to maintain warranty validation.
3. Installation Pathways
Defining the scope of work for your chosen installers.
The Quadra X requires high-level carpentry. You may choose one of two professional paths:
Path A: Balance Recovery Professional Service
Our specialist team executes the full structural build, including:
- Assembly of the 40mm cabin and roof system.
- Fitting of all Thermo Aspen internal furniture.
- Mounting of the 9kW heater bracket and LED channels.

Result: A 2-Year Professional Warranty.
Path B: Independent Contractor (Self-Assembly)
If utilising your own contractors, they must be competent carpenters.
- A comprehensive manual is provided for the flat-pack assembly.
- The installer is responsible for the precise calibration of the 8mm glass door.

Result: A 2-Year Manufacturer’s Warranty.
4. Technical Brief for the Qualified Electrician
To be provided directly to your NICEIC-registered (or equivalent) professional.
The structural build team does not execute final electrical connections. Your electrician is responsible for the safety certification of the sanctuary.

Heater Load: 9.0kW high-performance system.

Supply: A dedicated circuit from the consumer unit. Your electrician must determine the requirement for a single-phase or three-phase connection based on the property's load.

Compliance: All wiring must comply with BS 7671.

Final Hook-up: Connection of the heater, control unit, and LED drivers to the mains via a suitably rated, weatherproof isolator switch.
5. Final Commissioning & Warranty Activation
The mandatory final steps before first use.
To activate the warranty and ensure the timber's performance, the following must be completed:

Breathable Oil Treatment: Immediate application of a high-quality breathable oil-based wood treatment to all interior and exterior surfaces. This is a mandatory requirement to protect the Thermo Pine during the intense expansion and contraction of heat cycles.

The Commissioning Burn: Once the electrician certifies the connection, perform a "burn-in" cycle (80°C for one hour) without occupants to cure the timber and calibrate the heating elements.

Mechanical Handover: Verify that all ventilation slats move freely and the glass door maintains a flush, heat-retaining seal.
Ongoing Support
For technical advice, replacement stones, or seasonal maintenance guidance, the Balance Recovery support team remains at your disposal throughout the lifetime of your sauna.
