A steam shower is a fully enclosed, waterproof cabin that combines the functionality of a standard daily shower with the luxurious benefits of a traditional steam room.

• The Environment: Because the cabin is sealed (typically with sliding or hinged glass doors and a closed roof), the steam is contained, quickly raising the internal temperature to a comfortable 40°C–45°C with 100% humidity.

These units come fully equipped with standard thermostatic shower valves, overhead monsoon rainfall showerheads, and handheld riser kits. You simply step in, turn on the water, and use it exactly as you would a regular shower—only activating the steam function when you want a wellness session.

• Electrics: To power the steam generator, control panel, and internal lighting, the unit requires a dedicated electrical supply. In the UK, this must be installed by a Part P qualified electrician, typically wired into a fused spur located outside the bathroom, and protected by an RCD (Residual Current Device) at your consumer unit.

• Contained Moisture: While in use, the steam is completely trapped inside the sealed shower cabin. It will not damage your bathroom wallpaper or paintwork.
• Post-Session Ventilation: When you finish your session and open the cabin door, the trapped vapour will escape into the main bathroom. Therefore, you must ensure your bathroom has a standard, good-quality extractor fan to pull this moisture outside, just as you would for a regular hot shower.

Limescale is the biggest threat to any water-heating appliance in the UK. To ensure the longevity of your steam shower:

• Filtration: We highly recommend installing an inline water filter or softener on the cold water feed supplying the steam generator.
• Flushing: Many premium cabins feature an "auto-drain" function or an ozone sterilisation system that purges residual water after use.
• Descaling: Even with a filter, you should periodically run a liquid descaler through the generator’s dedicated descaling port to keep the internal heating elements free from mineral build-up.
