This guide explains how your ice bath will be delivered and outlines the key steps for installation—whether you choose the optional 5kW electric chiller or use the unit as a standalone cold-water tub.

1. Delivery Information

Delivered in a box and palletized to your property.

Kerbside delivery is standard (the driver unloads to the nearest safe point).

Ensure the delivery area and access pathways are clear, level, and unobstructed.

If needed, arrange extra help on the day to move the boxes from the kerbside to your chosen installation area.

2. Pre-Installation Preparation

Prepare your setup area before delivery:

Choose a solid, level base (concrete, paving, decking).

Ensure suitable drainage nearby for emptying the tub.

Have a hose or water source available to fill the ice bath.

If using the optional chiller, ensure the area has good ventilation.

3. Installation (With Optional Chiller)

If you purchased the 5kW chiller:

Position the ice bath on the prepared base.

Place the chiller in a location that allows hoses to reach comfortably.

Securely connect the inlet and outlet hoses.

Fill the ice bath to the recommended water level.

Check hose fittings, then turn on the chiller and set your temperature (3–40°C).

Allow the system to stabilise before use.

4. Installation (Ice Bath Only – No Chiller)

If you are installing the ice bath without the optional chiller:

Place the ice bath on a level, stable base.

Fill with cold water via hose or tap.

Add ice packs or ice blocks as needed to reach your desired temperature.

Use the built-in drain for emptying and freshwater changes.

This setup is ideal for manual cold therapy, seasonal dips, or users seeking a simple and low-maintenance option.

5. Ongoing Use & Maintenance

Keep the area around the ice bath clean and dry.

Check seals, drains, and hose fittings regularly.

Maintain good airflow around the chiller (if used).

Clean the ice bath interior periodically, following the care guidelines.

Important Notice: All electrical installation work must be carried out by a qualified, certified electrician. Because every property layout is different, the exact wiring, cable sizing, breaker rating, and placement may vary.

Power Supply Requirements

Voltage: 230-240 V (UK single-phase typical)

Approximate Power Demand: 5 kW (chiller load) + additional small loads (pump, controls)

Recommended Circuit:

Dedicated circuit for the chiller system

Hard-wired supply (do not use standard plug sockets or extension leads)

RCD and breaker protection appropriate for 5 kW load

Cable size determined by the electrician based on load and cable run distance (for example, 3 mm² or more may be required)

Control & Ancillary Equipment: Ensure the pump, control panel, and any accessories are correctly wired and protected under the same/supplementary circuit as required by the electrician.

Installation & Safety Responsibilities (Customer & Electrician)

The electrician must assess the home’s consumer unit, existing supply, and installation room layout to determine the correct breaker rating and cable size.

Wiring must comply with the UK Wiring Regulations (BS 7671).

Cables should be routed away from water splash zones, appropriately protected, and terminated in suitable isolator switches.

All earth-bonding and grounding connections must be correct and documented.

The location of the chiller and bath must allow for safe access, adequate ventilation, proper drainage, and service access, as water and cold temperatures increase the risk and complexity.

The installation must be certified and tested before use, which includes load testing, insulation resistance measurement, RCD/MCB functionality verification, and confirmation of the chiller system's correct operation.

Important Notes for Varying Property Layouts

Properties with long cable runs, older wiring, multiple sub-circuits, or outdoor/garage installations may require larger cable sizes, higher-capacity consumer unit/fuse upgrades, or additional isolation/control equipment.

If the chiller is installed outdoors or in a damp location, special consideration is needed for weather-proof enclosures, IP-rated electrical components, and condensation management.

Ensure the area housing the ice bath and chiller has suitable ventilation and drainage; electrical configurations may differ depending on the location (e.g., indoor vs. outdoor, basement vs. ground level).
