Owner’s Brief for the Harvia Fenix FX170 WiFi Control Unit
CRITICAL NOTICE: The information below is for your project planning and budget estimation. You must consult a Registered Electrician to carry out this installation. The Fenix FX170 manages massive electrical loads (up to 17 kW); you must always defer to your electrician’s professional judgment regarding the safety and capacity of your property's electrical system and the suitability of your main fuse.

The Fenix FX170 is a high-capacity power controller. It is the "hub" that takes the main power feed and sends it to the heater, lights, and accessories.

The Load Warning: A 17 kW load is extremely high for a standard residential property. Your electrician must verify if your incoming supply can handle this alongside your kitchen appliances, EV chargers, or heat pumps. In many cases, a 17 kW heater will require a 3-phase electrical supply.
2. Component Infrastructure
As the owner, you need to coordinate the placement of the three main hardware points:

The Power Unit: This is a large relay box. It manages the 17 kW load and generates heat while doing so. It must be mounted in a ventilated area, such as a utility room or on the exterior roof of the sauna cabin.

The Data Cable: A low-voltage cable connects the Power Unit to the Touch Panel. Your electrician needs to run this through the walls/conduit before your sauna is finished.

WiFi Connectivity: The "Smart" features only work if the Power Unit can reach your home's 2.4 GHz WiFi. If your sauna is in a garden building, your electrician may need to install a WiFi access point nearby.
3. Mandatory Installation Standards
To ensure your home remains safe and your warranty stays valid, your electrician must follow these standards:

Silicone Cabling: Any wiring that enters the sauna room (to the heater or sensors) must be SiHF-JB Silicone Cable (rated to 180°C). Standard household PVC cable will melt and is a fire hazard.

Dedicated Circuit: The FX170 system must be installed on its own dedicated circuit, protected by an appropriately rated RCBO (Residual Current Breaker with Overcurrent protection).
4. Final Safety & Warranty Documentation
Once the installation is complete and the system is tested, your electrician is legally required to provide you with an Electrical Installation Certificate (EIC).
