Phase 2: The Foundation (The 1,100kg Standard)

The Family L is a substantial structure of solid European Spruce. To prevent glass misalignment or structural shifting, your base must be engineered for a high "Live Load."

• The Engineering Logic: The dry build weighs 427kg. With a 5-person capacity, plus the 9kW heater and stones, the total weight when in use exceeds 850kg.
• Our Requirement: We recommend a foundation (reinforced concrete, mortar-set paving, or structural decking) capable of withstanding 1,100kg.
• The Footprint: The base must accommodate the 196.0 cm x 189.0 cm footprint and be perfectly level to ensure the safety glass door seals correctly.

Phase 3: The Electrical Brief (9.0kW)

The 9kW heater is the powerhouse of the Family L. You must hire a qualified NICEIC-registered electrician to prepare the site. Always defer to your qualified electricians judgement as property requirements vary

Phase 4: Delivery & The 24-Hour Rule

• Palletised Arrival: Your sauna arrives weather-wrapped and palletised to protect the Spruce timber.
• Integrated Assistance: We provide kerbside delivery, but our crew will assist in manually carrying the components to your installation site (access permitting).
• The Quality Check: You must inspect the components upon arrival. To maintain warranty eligibility, any transit damage must be reported within 24 hours.

Phase 5: Installation & Warranty Tiers

Your choice of installation directly defines your long-term coverage. We offer two pathways to suit your project:

• Option A: Balance Recovery Professional Service
• The Coverage: 2-Year Comprehensive Warranty.

• The Benefit: We provide the premium Harvia components and timber. Your chosen contractor handles the build. Note: Labour, structural alignment, and door-seal calibration are the responsibility of your contractor.

Phase 6: Warranty Validation & Stewardship

Your Family L is a "living" structure made of solid Spruce. To "activate" your protection, you must follow the Stewardship Ritual:

The Preservation Seal: Apply a high-quality breathable wood oil to the exterior and interior within 7 days. This allows the wood to "breathe" during 90°C heat cycles while protecting it from moisture.

1. Mechanical Check: Our team (or your installer) will verify that all doors and ventilation slats function smoothly.

The Test Cycle: Once your electrician certifies the connection, run a full 60-minute test cycle to "set" the elements and calibrate the cabin.

Phase 7: Ongoing Support & Aftercare

• The Sanctuary Standard: Periodically inspect the timber and reapply breathable oil as needed based on your local climate.

The Harvia Family L is equipped with a high-output 9.0kW heater. This system requires a dedicated radial circuit from the consumer unit.

2. Control Pathway Configuration

Please identify which proposal has been selected, as the wiring topography differs:

• Option 1: Harvia Xenio Fenix 110 (External Digital)

• The Hub: A separate power unit is mounted externally (in a dry location or weatherproof housing).

• Wiring: Requires data cable runs between the digital touch panel and the power unit, and high-temp silicone wiring from the power unit to the heater and sensors.

• Option 2: Integrated Manual Control

• The Hub: Controls are located directly on the heater unit.

• Wiring: The mains power feed is wired directly into the heater’s internal terminal block.

3. Mandatory Material Standards: SiHF-JB

To protect the warranty and ensure long-term safety, the following cabling standard is non-negotiable:

1. Site Foundations (Mandatory Standard)

Regardless of who performs the assembly, the foundation is the most critical element of the build.

• Structural Load: The base must support a total "Live Load" of 1,150kg (427kg build + 5 occupants + hardware).
• The Precision Rule: The foundation must be perfectly level. An unlevel base will cause the 8mm safety glass door to misalign, compromising the heat seal.
• Contractor Note: If your own builder is preparing the base, they must certify it as level and load-rated for 1,150kg prior to the sauna's arrival.

1. How Long Are You Covered?

We offer two levels of protection based on who builds your sauna. Both start the moment your electrician signs off on the power connection.

• If We Build It (Professional Installation): You get a 2-Year Comprehensive Warranty. We take full responsibility for the structure, the way the wood settles, the door alignment, and all the Harvia hardware.
• If You Build It (Self-Assembly): You get a 1-Year Parts Warranty. We guarantee that every piece of timber and every electrical component we send you is of the highest quality. Your builder is responsible for the labor and the final alignment.

2. The Timber: What to Expect from Solid Spruce

Your sauna is made of high-grade European Spruce. Because it’s a natural material being heated to 90°C by a powerful 9kW heater, it will "breathe."

• What’s Covered: We guarantee the wood against rot, fungal decay, or any major structural failure.
• What’s Natural: You might see tiny hairline cracks (surface shakes) or a bit of resin seepage over time. This isn't a defect; it’s just the wood reacting to the heat, and it’s a sign of an authentic Finnish sauna experience.

3. The Electrical Hardware: What’s Covered?

Your Family L is powered by a Harvia 9.0kW system, which is the gold standard in Finnish engineering. We break the electrical coverage down into three parts:

• The Heater Body & Controls (2 Years): We cover the main heater unit and the external control hub (like the Xenio Fenix) against any mechanical or electronic failure. If the "brains" of the system stop working, we replace them.
• The Heating Elements (12 Months): Think of these like the "lightbulbs" of your sauna. They are hardworking components that handle extreme stress. We guarantee them for a full year of residential use.
• The LED Lighting (1 Year): Your white LED strips and the transformer are covered for 12 months.

The "Warranty Rules" for Electricity

Because a 9.0kW system pulls a significant amount of power, our electrical warranty is only valid if:

1. You use a Pro: A qualified, registered electrician must do the final connection and provide you with an Electrical Installation Certificate (EIC).
2. You use the correct "Heat-Proof" Cable: Your electrician must use SiHF-JB high-temperature silicone cable. If standard PVC house wiring is used inside the sauna, it will eventually melt or become brittle, which voids the electrical warranty.
3. Correct Stones: You use the provided Finnish sauna stones and stack them according to the manual (not packed too tightly), allowing the air to flow and preventing the elements from overheating.

4. Your Part: Two Simple Steps

To keep your warranty active, we ask you to do two things within the first week:

• The First Oil: Apply a breathable wood oil to the inside and outside of the sauna within 7 days. This acts like a shield against moisture and UV rays.

At Balance Recovery, we supply premium Harvia products built to order. Because Harvia items are manufactured specifically to each customer's requirements, our returns and refunds policy reflects their specialised, made-to-order nature. Your statutory rights are preserved in full throughout.

1. Eligibility — The Made-to-Order Nature of Your Purchase

• Made to Order: Harvia products are made to order and enter production once your order is confirmed.
• Non-Refundable Once Production Begins: Because each item is commissioned specifically for you, orders are non-refundable once production has begun. We cannot accept returns or refunds for a "change of mind" from that point.
• Special Orders, Saunas and Hot Tubs: Special orders, saunas and hot tubs are non-returnable unless under warranty.
• Accuracy: Please verify all site dimensions, specifications and technical requirements before finalising your order.

2. Order Cancellations and Amendments

• Cancellation Window: You may cancel or amend your order at any time before production begins.
• Once Production Begins: After production has started, the order is non-refundable and cancellations cannot be facilitated.
• Accuracy Check: Amendments after order placement are subject to confirmation and may not be possible once your specification has been released to manufacture.

3. Reporting Transit Damage or Missing Items

• Inspect on Delivery: Check all items carefully as soon as they arrive, and note any visible damage on the delivery paperwork.
• Timeframe: Report any transit damage or missing parts promptly — within 24 to 48 hours of delivery.
• Evidence: Email contact@balancerecovery.co.uk with clear photographic or video evidence of the damage or shortage, together with your order details.

4. Claim and Assessment Procedure

• Submission: Send your report, proof of purchase and delivery date, and supporting photographs or video to contact@balancerecovery.co.uk.
• Assessment: We assess each claim and, where required, liaise with the manufacturer to confirm the fault or shortage.
• Outcome: Once assessed, we coordinate the appropriate remedy — repair, replacement of parts, full replacement or refund — in accordance with the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

5. Refund and Replacement Conditions

• Covered Circumstances: Refunds or replacements are provided only where goods are defective, damaged in transit or not as described.
• Not Covered: Change of mind, incorrect measurement or specification supplied by the customer, and normal characteristics of natural materials are not grounds for return once production has begun.
• Remedy: Where a valid fault is confirmed, we arrange repair, replacement or refund as appropriate under your statutory rights.

6. Statutory Rights and Compliance

• Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013: Bespoke and made-to-order goods are legally exempt from the standard 14-day cooling-off period for distance selling.
• Consumer Rights Act 2015: Goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. Your statutory rights for faulty, damaged-in-transit or misdescribed goods remain fully protected, regardless of the made-to-order exemption above.
