From Order Confirmation to Your First Remote-Controlled Session

The Delta D36E is the "high-tech" version of Harvia’s famous corner heater. It offers the same space-saving triangular design but removes the manual dials for a sleeker look and the ability to control your sauna from a digital panel outside the room.

Step 1: Is the "E" Model Right for You?

The "E" stands for External Control. This model is perfect for those who want a clean, minimalist heater design without reaching under the unit to turn dials.

• Sauna Volume: Perfect for small, intimate rooms between 2 m³ and 4.5 m³.
• The Extra Step: Because this heater has no onboard controls, you must pair it with a separate control unit (such as the Harvia Xenio CX110 or Xafir). If you haven't added a control panel to your order yet, you'll need one to make the heater work!

Step 2: Delivery Protocol 

The Delta D36E is one of Harvia’s most compact units, making the delivery process very straightforward.

• The Package: This arrives in a single, manageable box. It’s light enough for a standard courier delivery and easy to carry to your sauna location.
• The 24-Hour Check: Even though it’s small, it’s worth unboxing immediately. Check the black finish for any transit scuffs and ensure the wall-mounting bracket is included. If anything looks off, let us know within 24 hours.

Step 3: Preparation (What to do while you wait)

Before your electrician arrives, you can get the "hands-on" stuff out of the way:

1. Stone Prep: The Delta D36E uses 11 kg of stones. Give them a quick rinse in a bucket of plain water to remove any dust.
2. Control Placement: Decide where you want your digital control panel. Most people mount it on the outside wall of the sauna at eye level. You'll also need to plan the path for the data cable that connects the panel to the heater.

Step 4: The Professional Connection

This is where the "E" model differs most from the standard version.

Note: Always follow the advice of your Registered Electrician. They are responsible for ensuring the heater and control panel are safely integrated.

• Dual Wiring: Your electrician will need to wire the power to the control panel, and then run a separate feed from the panel to the heater.
• The Sensor: A temperature sensor (included with your control panel) will need to be mounted on the ceiling directly above the heater. This tells the digital panel exactly when to turn the elements off.
• Silicone Cable: As always, the cable inside the sauna must be High-Temperature Silicone Cable (SiHF-JB).

Step 5: The First Heat

1. Stacking: Place your washed stones loosely into the triangular cage. Make sure the elements are covered, but that air can still move between the rocks.
2. The Digital Start: Use your new wall panel to set the temperature.
3. The Burn-Off: Let the heater run for 45 minutes with the door open. You might notice a slight "new" smell—this is just the elements settling in. Once it clears, your high-tech retreat is ready.

Stewardship & Warranty

• Keep the EIC: Ensure your electrician gives you the Electrical Installation Certificate. You’ll need this to validate your 2-year warranty.
• Stone Care: Because the Delta is small, the stones are close to the elements. Re-stacking them once a year keeps the airflow perfect and prevents the elements from overworking.

Guidelines for the Harvia Delta D36E (3.6 kW)

A Note for the Homeowner: This guide is for project planning. Please provide this to your Registered Electrician before they arrive. They are the experts on-site who will ensure the installation is safe and complies with all UK electrical regulations.

1. Power Demand & Control Logic

The Delta D36E does not have internal controls. It must be connected to a separate power unit (like the Harvia Xenio CX110) located outside the sauna.

2. Wiring Schematic (The "System" Setup)

Unlike a manual heater, the electrician must wire a circuit that includes three main components:

1. Supply to Power Unit: Standard mains supply (e.g., Twin & Earth or SWA) to the external Control Panel/Power Unit.
2. Power Unit to Heater: This connection must be made using High-Temperature Silicone Cable (SiHF-JB). Standard PVC cable will fail in the sauna environment.
3. The Sensor: A temperature sensor (included with the control panel) must be mounted on the ceiling directly above the heater. This sensor communicates with the control panel via a low-voltage data cable.

3. Silicone Cable Requirement

We cannot emphasize this enough: SiHF-JB Silicone Cable is mandatory for any wiring inside the sauna room.

• Standard cable becomes brittle and cracks when exposed to sauna temperatures.
• Using non-silicone cable inside the sauna will void the manufacturer’s warranty and poses a fire risk.

4. Sensor Positioning

For the "E" model to work correctly, the sensor must be positioned exactly as per the Harvia manual.

• It should be on the ceiling, centered above the heater.
• If the sensor is too far away, the heater will stay on too long; if it's too close, it will cut out before the benches are warm.

5. Commissioning & Warranty

Once the wiring is complete and the "burn-off" test is successful, your electrician should issue an Electrical Installation Certificate (EIC).

• Pro Tip: Take a photo of the EIC and save it. Harvia requires this proof of professional installation to validate your 2-year warranty.

Setting up your digital corner sauna system

The Delta D36E is designed to be tucked into a corner to save space, but because it’s an "E" model, it relies on a separate brain (your control panel) to function. Here is the roadmap from unboxing to your first session.

1. The Delivery (The "Package Deal")

The Delta is light and compact, usually arriving via a standard courier.

• The Heater Box: This contains the triangular heater unit and the wall-mounting bracket.
• The "Missing" Dials: If you look at the bottom of the heater and see no dials, don't worry! That is correct for the "E" model. It is controlled entirely by your external power unit.
• The 24-Hour Check: Even if you aren't installing it today, open the box now. Check the black finish for any scuffs and ensure the bracket is there. If there’s any transit damage, snap a photo and let us know within 24 hours.

2. Positioning & Mounting

Because the Delta is triangular, it performs best when mounted in a 90-degree corner.

• Corner vvsFlat Wall: The included bracket is specifically designed to sit in a corner, which is the most space-efficient way to install it.
• Height from Floor: Aim for a gap of 150mm to 200mm between the floor and the bottom of the heater. This allows the unit to draw in the cool air it needs to function.
• The Bracket: Secure the bracket into a solid timber stud. Once you add the 11kg of stones, the total weight is around 16-18kg, so it needs a firm fix.

3. The Electrical "System"

This is the most technical part of the setup. Unlike the manual version, the D36E requires a "conversation" between the heater, a control panel, and a sensor.

Note: This information is for planning. Always defer to your Registered Electrician on-site.

• The Control Panel (The Brain): You will likely be installing a Harvia Xenio or Xafir panel. This is usually mounted outside the sauna at eye level.
• The Sensor (The Eyes): Your control panel comes with a temperature sensor. This must be mounted on the ceiling, precisely above the centre of the heater.
• The Cable (The Nerves): Your electrician will run power to the control panel, and then High-Temperature Silicone Cable (SiHF-JB) from the panel to the heater.

4. Loading the Stones

The Delta D36E uses 11kg of stones.

• The Rinse: Give the stones a quick wash in plain water first to remove any dust.
• The Stack: Place them into the heater loosely. You want to cover the elements completely so you can’t see them, but you must leave enough gaps for air to flow through. If you pack them too tightly, the heater will overheat, and the safety switch will trip.

5. The First Digital Start-Up

Before you jump in, you need to "burn off" the manufacturing oils from the elements.

1. The Settings: Use your external control panel to set the temperature to its maximum.
2. Door Open: Keep the sauna door open.
3. The 45-Minute Run: Let the heater run for 45 minutes. You might notice a bit of a metallic smell—this is normal and will disappear after this first run. Once it's finished, your sauna is officially ready for use.

At Balance Recovery we want you to be completely happy with your purchase. If you change your mind, the following returns policy applies to our range of Harvia sauna heaters. It is offered in addition to, and does not affect, your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.

1. Your 14-Day Return Window

You may request a return within 14 days of receiving your Harvia sauna heater. To start a return, contact us at contact@balancerecovery.co.uk with your order number and details before sending anything back.

2. Condition & Packaging

To be eligible for a return, the heater must be unused and unopened, in its original, undamaged packaging, complete with all components, fittings, control units, stones and documentation included. Heaters that have been installed, wired in, used, or removed from their original packaging cannot be returned under this change-of-mind policy (your statutory rights for faulty goods are unaffected — see section 6).

3. Return Shipping

You are responsible for the cost of returning the goods. We recommend using a tracked, insured service suitable for a heavy item, as the heater remains your responsibility until it reaches our warehouse. Please retain your proof of postage.

4. Inspection on Return

Once your return arrives at our warehouse it will be inspected to confirm its condition and that it is complete. We aim to complete this inspection promptly and will keep you informed throughout.

5. Your Refund

• If, on inspection, the heater is returned complete and undamaged in its original condition, we will issue a full refund.
• If any part of the heater is found to be missing or damaged on inspection, the cost of the missing or damaged part(s) will be deducted from your refund, and the remaining balance refunded to you.
• Refunds are issued to the original payment method once the inspection is complete.

6. Faulty, Damaged or Incorrect Goods

This change-of-mind policy is separate from your rights if goods arrive faulty, damaged in transit, or not as described. Any missing, damaged or incorrect parts should be reported promptly on delivery (please refer to the product's manufacturer's warranty for the reporting timeframe). Where goods are faulty or damaged in transit, you will not be charged for return shipping, and we will arrange repair, replacement or refund in accordance with your statutory rights.

7. How to Request a Return

Email contact@balancerecovery.co.uk with your order number, the item(s) you wish to return, and the reason. We will confirm the return address and next steps before you send anything back.

8. Your Statutory Rights

Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described; under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 you have cancellation rights for most items bought at a distance. This policy is provided in addition to those rights.
