Genevas St. Moritz 5 Person Outdoor Sauna with Shower Room

Personalised Zoom Consultation Before You Order:

  • At Balance Recovery, we believe that investing in wellness equipment is a significant and personal decision, especially when done with our Luxury Sauna Range — one that should be made with complete clarity and confidence.
  • Before finalising your order, we offer every customer a one-to-one Zoom consultation with our Sales Director and the Genevas CEO.
  • This consultation is designed to provide a tailored, transparent experience where we can walk you through the product details, answer any questions, and ensure everything aligns with your expectations, space, and usage goals.

What to Expect:

  •  A clear explanation of the product’s features, materials, and functionality.
  • Guidance on delivery, installation, site preparation, and maintenance.
  • Answers to any technical, logistical, or electrical queries.
  • The opportunity to discuss customisations or specific use cases.
  • Honest advice to help you choose the right solution for your needs.

1. Model selection, customisation & order placement

  • Choose the St Moritz model rated for up to five people, including three distinct zones: sauna room, lounge area, and integrated shower room.
  • Review and finalise all specification details carefully, including finishes, heater type (electric or wood-burning), glass types, external colour, and layout dimensions. Because this unit is made‑to‑order, once fabrication begins, you cannot cancel or receive a refund simply because you change your mind.
  • Submit your order with full payment as required. You will receive a confirmation that clearly states your model, specifications, dimensions, finish options, heater selection, and order reference.

2. Manufacture & factory checks

  • The sauna is constructed using premium cross-laminated timber (CLT) for the walls, floor, and ceiling — typically 60 mm thick for high strength and insulation.
  • The lounge, sauna, and shower areas are pre-assembled at the factory. Bench seats are installed, glazing is fitted, a heater/heating system is placed, and lighting and electrical components are factory-wired.
  • Before dispatch, the unit undergoes a comprehensive quality check, including structural panel integrity, finish inspection, glass sealing, verification of correct heater and plumbing/venting connections, and overall integrity for outdoor use.

3. Delivery organisation & unloading logistics

  • The unit is delivered fully assembled or in large modules, dependent on site access and size. Due to the size and weight (often approximately 3 tons or more), unloading and final placement are not included in the basic purchase price; you are responsible for covering the cost of any necessary equipment or labour.

  • Our team can arrange this for an additional fee.

Before delivery, you must arrange and verify:

  • Clear vehicular access to the delivery point (road access, gate width, no overhead obstructions, sufficient turning space).
  •  A prepared staging area or clear path from vehicle to final placement site.
  • Equipment and workforce for safe unloading: this may include a forklift, HIAB truck crane, or mobile crane, depending on distance from road, obstacles, or level changes.
  • Temporary weather protection for the unit, in case immediate installation is not possible.

Delivery day process:

  • We will unload the cabin modules safely onto the prepared base or staging area. Inspect for visible damage before moving from the truck — note any dents, damage, or water exposure on the delivery receipt.
  • Once the installation team arrives, they will move the unit to its final location using the appropriate equipment. Remember that rough handling or tilting large modules can damage structural panels and void the warranty.
  • We will position and secure the unit according to the manufacturer’s guidelines (anchoring, if required; levelling; and underside protection).
  • If your site requires a crane (e.g., to cross fences, navigate slopes, or access narrow areas), you must schedule it separately and assume the associated costs and responsibilities.

4. On‑site base & preparation

The foundation or base must meet the following requirements:

  • Level and flat to within a few millimetres, to prevent stress on panels, glazing, or the structure.
  • Firm, dry, and capable of supporting the sauna plus occupants (3 tons structure plus usage load).
  • Elevated above ground or placed on a damp‑proof membrane/bitumen strip to avoid moisture ingress into base timber.
  • Clear area around the unit for ventilation, maintenance access, and safe use (door swing, bench space, external clearance).
  • For the shower room, a drainage provision or a floor water exit must be in place, and an external water supply must be ready for the shower connections.
  • Dedicated electrical supply: The heater (either a wood-burning or electric version) must have a correct voltage/current circuit installed by a qualified electrician, with RCD/fuse protection,  properly sized cable, and compliance with local regulations.
  • If you choose a wood-burning heater, the chimney/flue route must be prepared, including clearance to combustibles, external venting, and compliance with local fire authority regulations.
  • Final positioning should consider environmental factors, including wind exposure, roof snow load, roof drainage, and surrounding landscaping.

5. Installation, connection & commissioning

A qualified installer must carry out the following:

  • Connect the heater system (electric or wood): electrical wiring, control panel, thermostat, ventilation air supply, chimney/flue, where applicable.
  • Connect the shower room plumbing, including the water supply (hot/cold), shower tray, drainage, and joint sealing.
  • Perform a dry-run test (without users) to verify that the heater reaches the required sauna temperature, the thermostat functions properly, the glass seals remain intact, ventilation operates correctly, the shower room water flows and drains properly, and the electrical controls function appropriately.
  • Final levelling and securing of the entire unit, including anchor points if needed, to ensure door operation, bench stability, and safety clearance are met.
  • After commissioning, the homeowner will receive the operation manual, heater instructions, care/maintenance guide, and safety briefing.

6. Warranty & after‑care

  • The sauna includes a manufacturer’s warranty (typically 2 years) covering defects in materials, structural panels, factory‑installed heating, lighting, and plumbing systems.
  • The warranty does not cover: damage resulting from incorrect installation, misuse, lack of maintenance, environmental damage (e.g., snow overload, water ingress), normal wear and tear (timber movement/discolouration), unauthorised modifications, or third‑party additions.
  • Maintain records, including proof of purchase, an installation certificate (showing a qualified electrician/plumber), delivery documentation, and a maintenance log.
  • For more information, please look at the manufacturer's warranty document.

Recommended care:

  • After every session, ensure proper ventilation, wipe down benches, check seals around doors/glass, clean the shower tray, inspect the external roof and flashing yearly, verify electrical connections annually, and clear ventilation paths. Avoid direct ground contact, ensure base remains dry, and monitor for moisture buildup.

7. Returns & made‑to‑order policy

  • Because this cabin is made to order, once fabrication commences, you cannot cancel simply because you changed your mind. Returns are only accepted if the product is faulty, damaged during transit, or not built to specification.
  • Before ordering, ensure all site conditions, dimensions, and access details are correct.
  • Any approved return will likely incur transit, repackaging, and inspection costs, and you may be responsible for these if the damage is not due to a manufacturing defect.
  • If the unit has been installed or used, returning may not be possible.

8. User experience & ongoing maintenance

  • Once installed, the St. Moritz combines sauna heat, lounge comfort, and an integrated shower for a complete wellness retreat for up to five people. Enjoy your sessions: warming in the sauna, relaxing in the lounge, rinsing off in the shower — all within the same structure.
  • Follow safe usage guidelines: preheat the sauna, limit session duration, cool down in the lounge or outside, hydrate, shower, and repeat as desired.

Maintenance routines:

  • Open doors and ventilation after each session to dry out the interior; wipe down benches; check glass modelling for any condensation; remove debris around the exterior; clear roof drainage; inspect exterior timber annually for oil/wax finish renewal; keep the chimney/vent clear if using a wood-burning stove; test electrical components periodically.
  • Long-term benefits: With proper care and installation, you can enjoy the cabin for many years, maintaining its appearance and performance.
Heater Information +

The Genevas St Moritz 5 Person Outdoor Sauna with Shower Room can be equipped with either a HUUM HIVE Mini 11 kW Electric Sauna Heater or a HUUM HIVE Wood 13 Wood-Burning Stove, providing a balance of modern convenience and traditional sauna authenticity.

HUUM HIVE Mini 11 kW Electric Sauna Heater

Designed for sauna rooms of 10–16 m³, this heater holds 150 kg of stones, delivering gentle, even heat. Paired with the UKU Local Control system, users can precisely adjust temperature and session time with integrated safety features.

Installation

Requires a dedicated 230V or 400V supply. Electrical connection must be completed by a qualified NICEIC-registered electrician in compliance with BS 7671 Wiring Regulations and Part P Building Regulations.

HUUM HIVE Wood 13 Wood-Burning Stove

A traditional wood-fired sauna heater designed for rooms of 6–13 m³, capable of holding 90 kg of stones to produce naturally soft, radiant heat. Crafted from durable stainless steel, it offers an authentic sauna experience with optional front-loading.

Installation

Must be carried out by a HETAS-registered installer in accordance with UK Building Regulations Part J for solid-fuel appliances.

*Note: All electrical and flue installations are the responsibility of the customer and must be completed by qualified professionals to ensure full compliance and safe operation.

Electrical Supply - IMPORTANT +

All electrical work is the customer's responsibility. The Genevas St Moritz 5 Person Outdoor Sauna is available with two heating options — the HUUM HIVE Mini 11 kW Electric Sauna Heater or the HUUM HIVE Wood 13 Wood-Burning Stove. Each option has different installation and power requirements that the customer must arrange.

Electric Sauna Heater (HUUM HIVE Mini 11 kW)

This model requires a dedicated electrical supply capable of supporting 11 kW of power. It can be configured for either single-phase 230V or three-phase 400V installations, depending on site conditions. The supply must include:

  • Correctly rated MCB and RCD protection.
  • Select the appropriate cable size based on the heater load and the distance from the consumer unit.
  • Installation of the UKU Local Control unit, lighting circuits, and any additional electrical components.
  • All electrical work must be completed by a qualified NICEIC-registered electrician, following BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations) and Part P of the UK Building Regulations.

Wood-Burning Sauna Heater (HUUM HIVE Wood 13)

  • While this heater operates independently of electricity for heat generation, it still requires a small electrical connection for optional accessories such as interior LED lighting or ventilation systems. A qualified electrician must also carry out these minor electrical works to meet UK safety standards.
  • The central wood-burning heater installation must be performed by a HETAS-registered installer, in compliance with UK Building Regulations Part J for solid-fuel appliances, using a suitable flue system, a non-combustible base, and ensuring proper airflow clearance.

*Customer Responsibility: All electrical and flue installations are the sole responsibility of the customer. Balance Recovery supplies the sauna and heating equipment only; qualified professionals must complete connection, wiring, and certification before use.

Delivery & Installation +

Delivery Logistics & Unloading Procedures

Units are delivered either fully assembled or in large modules, depending on site access limitations and unit dimensions. Given the substantial size and weight of the structure (typically exceeding 3 tons), unloading and final placement are not included in the standard purchase price. The client is responsible for any costs associated with specialised lifting equipment or supplementary labour. (Note: Our team can facilitate these arrangements for an additional fee upon request.)

Pre-Delivery Client Responsibilities

Prior to the scheduled delivery date, the client must verify and prepare the following:

  • Vehicular Access: Ensure clear access to the delivery point, including adequate road conditions, sufficient gate width, adequate turning space, and no overhead obstructions.
  • Staging Area: Prepare a designated staging area or establish a clear, unobstructed path from the delivery vehicle to the final installation site.
  • Unloading Equipment: Arrange the necessary equipment and workforce for safe unloading (e.g., forklift, HIAB truck crane, or mobile crane) based on the distance from the road, changes in terrain elevation, and physical obstacles.
  • Weather Protection: Provide temporary weather protection for the modules if immediate installation is delayed.
  • Crane Requirements: If site conditions necessitate a crane (e.g., navigating slopes, lifting over fences, or accessing confined spaces), the client must independently schedule it and assume all associated costs and liabilities.

Delivery Day Protocol

  • Unloading & Inspection: The delivery team will safely unload the modules onto the prepared base or staging area. The client must conduct a visual inspection for structural damage, dents, or water exposure before the unit is moved from the truck. Any issues must be documented immediately on the delivery receipt.
  • Site Transport: Upon arrival, the designated installation team will transition the unit to its final location utilising appropriate equipment. (Warning: Rough handling or improper tilting of large modules may result in structural panel damage and will void the manufacturer’s warranty.)
  • Positioning: The installation team will position, secure, and level the unit in strict accordance with the manufacturer's guidelines, including any necessary anchoring and underside protection.

Site Preparation & Foundation Requirements

The longevity and structural integrity of the unit rely heavily on a properly prepared foundation. The base must adhere to the following specifications:

Structural Integrity

  • Level and Flat: The surface must be level to within a few millimetres to prevent uneven stress on structural panels, glazing, and door frames.
  • Load-Bearing Capacity: The base must be firm, dry, and capable of supporting the combined weight of the structure (approx. 3 tons) plus the maximum occupant usage load.
  • Moisture Protection: The foundation must be elevated above ground level or feature a damp-proof membrane/bitumen strip to prevent moisture ingress into the base timber.

Clearance & Environment

  • Operational Clearance: Maintain a clear perimeter around the unit to ensure proper ventilation, maintenance access, safe door swing, and external clearances.
  • Environmental Factors: Final positioning must account for local environmental variables, including prevailing wind exposure, roof snow load capacity, roof drainage trajectories, and surrounding landscaping.

Utility Preparations

  • Plumbing (Shower Room Units): Adequate drainage or a floor water exit must be established prior to installation. An external water supply must be accessible and prepared for shower connections.
  • Electrical Supply: A dedicated electrical circuit must be installed by a certified electrician. This includes appropriate voltage/current ratings for the heater (electric or wood-burning control systems), RCD/fuse protection, correct cable sizing, and full compliance with local electrical regulations.
  • Flue Routing (Wood-Burning Units): The designated route for the chimney/flue must be prepared in advance, strictly adhering to required clearances from combustible materials, external venting protocols, and local fire authority regulations.

Installation, Connection & Commissioning

All final connections and system testing must be executed by a qualified installation professional. The commissioning process includes:

System Connections & Fit-Out

  • Heater Systems: Complete installation and connection of the heater (electric or wood-burning), including electrical wiring, control panels, thermostats, ventilation air supply, and chimney/flue integration where applicable.
  • Plumbing: Finalise shower room plumbing, including hot/cold water supply integration, shower tray installation, drainage connection, joint sealing, and shower fitting assembly.
  • Interior Fit-Out: Install and secure lounge and sauna room benches, lighting fixtures (including dimmable LED systems), glass doors, and ventilation registers; verify all structural insulation.
  • Structural Securing: Perform final levelling and securing of the entire unit. This includes affixing anchor points (if specified) to guarantee safe door operation, bench stability, and proper safety clearances.

Testing & Handover

  • Dry-Run Commissioning: Conduct a comprehensive, unoccupied test run to verify that:
    • The heater achieves the specified sauna temperature.
    • The thermostat reads and responds accurately.
    • Glass seals and thermal barriers remain fully intact.
    • Ventilation systems operate efficiently.
    • Shower water flow and drainage function without leaks or pooling.
    • All electrical controls operate safely and correctly.
  • Client Handover: Upon successful commissioning, the client will receive the operation manual, heater instructions, care and maintenance guidelines, and a comprehensive safety briefing.
