Cube Sauna (1.6m) | 6.8kW Harvia® Compact Architectural Sanctuary

The Cube Sauna (1.6m Edition) is the ultimate solution for high-performance wellness in space-conscious environments. Moving away from the traditional barrel shape, the Cube’s vertical 42mm thick timber walls provide superior headroom and a contemporary architectural silhouette that integrates seamlessly into modern UK garden designs. Despite its compact 160cm length, this cabin is powered by the professional-grade Harvia PC70 (6.8kW) heater, creating a high-density thermal environment that reaches 80–90°C in just 20 minutes.

[Image: The sharp, cubic silhouette in Charcoal stain with a towering Harvia stone pillar]

Equipped with a towering Cilindro stone pillar holding up to 80kg of stones, the 1.6m Cube offers an unparalleled "Löyly" (steam) experience. The interior is meticulously finished with Alder wood terrace benches, chosen for their heat-neutral properties and smooth grain. Whether you are targeting deep-tissue recovery or a daily mental reset, the 1.6m Cube provides the full "Large Cabin" experience without the footprint.

Why the Cube 1.6m is the 2026 "Compact-Premium" Leader:

1. High-Density Thermal Performance

In 2026, efficiency is the top-ranking factor for home saunas. The Cube 1.6m utilises a "Power-to-Volume" advantage:

  • Harvia PC70 Pillar Heater: By placing a 6.8kW heater in a 1.6m cabin, you achieve a faster thermal saturation of the 42mm timber walls, reducing energy consumption per session.
  • 80kg Stone Mass: The massive stone reservoir acts as a thermal battery, providing a deep, consistent radiant heat that remains long after the heater is switched off.
  • Precision Temperature Control: Specifically calibrated for traditional steam rituals, allowing for a searing 90°C dry heat or a soft, humid "Stone Pillar" steam experience.

2. Architectural Integrity & 42mm Insulation

  • 42mm Solid Construction: Unlike thin-walled alternatives, the 42mm timber provide industry-leading insulation, essential for maintaining stable temperatures during UK winters.
  • Alder Wood Comfort: The interior features premium Alder benches and floor grates. Alder is the preferred hardwood for 2026 luxury builds because it remains comfortable to the touch even at maximum temperatures.
  • 1910mm Bronze Safety Glass: The oversized entrance door uses 8mm bronzed glass to provide a sense of openness and light while maintaining bather privacy and locking in thermal energy.

3. Integrated "Smart-Flow" Engineering

  • Optimized Air Circulation: Featuring integrated ventilation holes designed to prevent "cold spots" in a cubic space, ensuring that the fresh oxygen flow matches the high-intensity heat.
  • Designer Finish Options: Available in Charcoal, Light Oak, or Woodland Red stains, allowing you to match your sauna to existing garden structures or contemporary fencing.
  • Modular Versatility: The 1.6m footprint makes this the most versatile outdoor model for side-returns, small patios, and rooftop terraces.

  • Base & Loading: Due to the 750kg weight, the unit must be placed on a level, solid foundation (concrete, stone, or reinforced decking).
  • Delivery & Assembly: Delivered pre-assembled for rapid installation. Ensure a clear path for a unit with a 2140mm height.
  • Maintenance: We recommend an annual application of a UV-protective oil to maintain the Charcoal or Light Oak stain integrity and prevent timber weathering.

Buying Guide Cube Sauna (1.6m)

Model: The Compact Cube | 1.6m Architectural High-Mass Suite

1. Place Your Order

  • Choose the Cube Sauna (1.6m), our most space-efficient contemporary outdoor model.
  • This model is a complete performance kit featuring the Harvia PC70 (6.8kW) pillar heater, 8mm Bronze Safety Glass, and premium Alder internals.
  • Complete your order online to secure your 2026 production slot.
  • For tight urban installations, we recommend sending a detailed video of your access route. The 2040mm width and 1.6m panels require clear navigation. The delivery is kerbside delivery only.

2. Order Processing & Manufacturing

  • Your Compact Cube is built using 42mm heavy-duty timber, offering superior thermal insulation for its size. Your order includes:
    • Precision Cube Frame: 1600mm (L) x 2040mm (W) x 2140mm (H).
    • The Engine: Harvia PC70 6.8kW Electric Heater + 80kg of subvolcanic stones.
    • The View: Extra-tall 1910mm Bronze Safety Glass door.
    • The Interior: Premium Alder terrace benches and removable floor grates.
    • Finish: Your choice of 2026 signature stains (Light Oak, Woodland Red, or Charcoal).

3. Delivery Organisation – FREE Kerbside Delivery & Unloading

  • The Logistics: Your sauna is delivered palletised as a precision-cut kit. Our team will unload the pallet at the nearest safe kerbside point.
  • Compact Advantage: At 1.6m in length, the panels are easier to handle than our larger models, though the 42mm timber thickness means components remain heavy.
  • Notification: You will be contacted via SMS/Email to confirm your delivery window.

4. Pre-Installation Preparation

  • Foundation: A perfectly level, non-combustible base is required (Concrete, stone, or reinforced decking).
  • Electrical Preparation: Despite its compact size, this is a high-power unit.
    • Requirement: A dedicated 32-Amp single-phase supply (hardwired).
    • Action: You must consult a qualified electrician to install a dedicated circuit before the sauna arrives.

5. Delivery Day & Unloading

  • Your Responsibility: Moving the components from the kerbside to your installation site.
  • Handling: We recommend at least 2 capable adults for transit; the 42mm panels provide excellent durability but carry significant weight.
  • Inspection: Check the 8mm glass door and timber panels for any transit marks. Report any issues within 24 hours.

6. Installation Options

  • Professional Installation: Price Available on Request
    • Our team manages the structural vertical alignment and roof sealing to ensure a 100% weather-tight finish.
    • Includes a 2-year structural warranty.
  • Self-Assembly: Precision interlocking boards make this a satisfying project for competent DIYers. Includes a 1-year warranty.

7. Finishing Touches & Safety Check

  • Pillar Performance: The PC70 heater holds 80kg of stones. When using the sauna, remember that water thrown on the sides of the pillar creates a soft, lingering steam, while water on the top creates an immediate heat spike.
  • Wood Care: Apply the included maintenance oil to the exterior within 14 days of assembly to preserve the Light Oak, Woodland Red, or Charcoal finish.
  • Ventilation: Adjust the integrated vents to your preference to ensure optimal oxygen flow during high-heat sessions.

8. Enjoy Your Sauna & Ongoing Support

  • The Experience: Architectural luxury that fits anywhere. Ideal for 2–3 people.
  • Maintenance: Ensure the drain tap is kept clear to prevent water pooling under the Alder grates.
  • Support: Our technical team is available for 2026 heater troubleshooting and maintenance advice.
  • Important notes: Hardwired 32A power is mandatory. Non-refundable once production commences.
Electrical Supply - IMPORTANT +

Electrical Supply Specification Cube Sauna (1.6m)

Model: The Compact Cube | 6.8kW Harvia PC70 Series

⚠️ Mandatory Electrical Disclaimer & Responsibility

The installation of a 6.8kW sauna heater is a significant electrical undertaking. It is the customer’s sole responsibility to consult and engage a qualified, Part P registered electrician to design, install, and certify the electrical supply.

1. Core Electrical Requirements

The Cube (1.6m) is engineered for rapid heat-up times and high-mass steam. To manage the 80kg stone load of the PC70 engine, the following supplies are required:

  • Heater Output: 6.8 kW
  • Power Supply: Single Phase 230V / 50Hz
  • Amperage Draw: Approximately 29.6 Amps
  • Supply Type: Dedicated 32-Amp Circuit (Hardwired).

2. Customer’s Responsibility: The Electrician’s Brief

You must provide the following information to your electrician before the sauna arrives:

  • Dedicated Breaker: The sauna must be on its own dedicated radial circuit. Your electrician should install a 32A or 40A Type B MCB (or RCBO) at the consumer unit.
  • RCD Protection: In accordance with Section 703 for saunas and steam rooms, the circuit must be protected by a 30mA Residual Current Device (RCD).
  • Local Isolation: A waterproof (IP66-rated) double-pole rotary isolator switch must be installed externally, within sight of the sauna, for safety and maintenance.

3. Cable Specification

Your electrician will determine the exact cable size based on the distance from your consumer unit to the garden to account for voltage drop.

  • Standard Requirement: Typically requires 6mm² or 10mm² 3-core SWA (Steel Wire Armoured) cable.
  • Final Connection: The Cube (1.6m) is supplied with internal pre-wiring for integrated lighting. Your electrician must perform the final termination of your SWA cable into the Harvia PC70 heater terminals.

4. Integrated Technology

  • Lighting: The LED system is pre-wired to an internal junction box.
  • Heater Controls: The PC70 features integrated manual dials for temperature and timing. Ensure your electrician tests the thermal sensor placement during commissioning.

Final Instruction for the Homeowner:

You must obtain an Electrical Installation Certificate (EIC) upon completion. This document is required to validate your product warranty and ensure the safety of the installation.

Delivery & Installation +

Delivery & Installation Guide Cube Sauna (1.6m)

Model: The Compact Cube | 6.8kW Modern High-Mass Suite

1. Site Foundation & Preparation

The Compact Cube concentrates a significant amount of weight (approx. 750kg) into a smaller footprint. Your foundation must be engineered to prevent subsiding.

  • The Base: A perfectly level, non-combustible base is mandatory. We recommend a concrete pad or reinforced stone paving.
  • Precision Leveling: Because this model features a large 1910mm glass door, even a 5mm deviation in the base can cause the door frame to pinch. Ensure your base is checked with a laser level.
  • Clearance: Maintain a minimum 500mm buffer on all sides. This is essential for the integrated ventilation to draw air correctly and for you to apply the required annual timber treatment.

2. Delivery & "The Lifting Service"

  • Standard FREE Delivery: This is a kerbside drop-off via a tail-lift vehicle. The sauna is delivered as a palletised kit.
  • Lifting Service (Highly Recommended): * While the 1.6m panels are shorter than our standard models, they are constructed from 42mm solid timber and are extremely heavy.
    • HIAB/Crane Service: We can arrange a crane-lift delivery to position the pallet directly onto your patio or terrace, avoiding manual transit through side gates.
    • Note: Please provide a site video to receive a bespoke quote for this service.

3. Manual Transit Requirements

If you choose to move the unit from the kerbside to your garden manually:

  • Width Check: The panels are 2040mm wide. You must verify that your side access or gates have a clear opening of at least 2100mm to allow for handling space.
  • Team Strength: Moving the 42mm wall sections requires a minimum of 2-3 capable adults.

4. Electrical Supply (Customer Responsibility)

The Harvia PC70 (6.8kW) heater is a performance-grade engine that cannot be plugged into a standard socket.

  • The Requirement: A dedicated 32-Amp single-phase supply is mandatory.
  • Electrician’s Brief: You must engage a qualified, Part P registered electrician to install a dedicated radial circuit with an SWA (Steel Wire Armoured) cable.
  • Warranty Note: We are not responsible for the on-site electrical connection. A valid Electrical Installation Certificate (EIC) is required to protect your warranty.

5. Installation Options

  • Professional Installation: Price Available on Request.
    • Our team will handle the structural build, ensure the roof shingles are perfectly sealed, and calibrate the 1910mm glass door.
    • Includes a 2-year structural warranty.
  • Self-Assembly:
    • The 1.6m Cube is an excellent project for a confident DIY team. Detailed instructions for the interlocking 42mm boards are provided.
    • Includes a 1-year structural warranty.

6. Commissioning & First Heat

  • Pillar Stone Loading: The PC70 holds 80kg of stones. Ensure stones are washed and stacked loosely to allow for air convection.
  • The First Burn: Once your electrician has certified the connection, run the sauna at 80°C for 60 minutes with the door open to clear manufacturing oils and "set" the timber.
  • Drainage: Ensure the built-in drain tap is unobstructed. If installing on a premium terrace, you may wish to attach a hose to direct wastewater into a nearby planter or drain.

Oasis Outdoor Sauna Range — Manufacturer's Warranty

This manufacturer's warranty is provided by Oasis Outdoor Living UK Ltd (the manufacturer). Balance Recovery is your authorised retailer for the Woodchop Outdoor Sauna range and your first point of contact for any warranty claim.

Every sauna in the Woodchop Outdoor Sauna range has been crafted from premium thermowood and timber to deliver exceptional performance, reliability and years of authentic sauna enjoyment. To reflect our confidence in the quality of every cabin, Oasis Outdoor Living UK Ltd provides the following manufacturer's warranty for saunas installed for private domestic use within the United Kingdom. This warranty applies across the sauna range and, where relevant, references your Harvia heater and control unit.

1 Year Warranty on the Timber & Cabin Structure

The timber cabin structure, supporting framework, benches, door and glazing frames are warranted by Oasis Outdoor Living UK Ltd against defects in materials or workmanship that affect the structural integrity of the sauna under normal residential use. Timber is a natural material: normal movement, expansion and contraction, colour change, resin bleed and weathering are inherent characteristics of the material and are not considered defects.

2 Year Warranty on the Harvia Heater & Control Unit

Your Harvia heater and control unit carry the Harvia manufacturer's warranty against defects in materials or workmanship for a period of 2 years. This cover is conditional on the heater being installed and connected by a qualified electrician in accordance with BS 7671 (the IET Wiring Regulations). Arranging this installation is the responsibility of the customer, and a valid Electrical Installation Certificate (EIC) may be required to support any warranty claim relating to the heater, control unit or electrical connection.

Warranty Registration

To receive the full benefits of this warranty, your sauna should be registered within 14 days of delivery. Failure to register within this period will reduce the timber and cabin structure warranty to the statutory minimum from the original date of delivery. Proof of purchase is required for all warranty claims. Please retain your Harvia documentation and your Electrical Installation Certificate (EIC), as these may be required to support a heater or electrical warranty claim.

Reporting Transit Damage

Any missing, damaged or incorrect parts should be reported to your authorised retailer within 3 days of delivery. Failure to report transit damage within this period may affect your entitlement to a warranty claim relating to those items.

Making a Warranty Claim

Please contact the authorised retailer from whom your sauna was purchased — Balance Recovery (contact@balancerecovery.co.uk). If you are unable to obtain assistance from your retailer, please contact:

Oasis Outdoor Living UK Ltd Unit 9 Albert Martin Business Park Kirkby Road Sutton-in-Ashfield Nottinghamshire NG17 1GZ

Warranty claims should be submitted within 30 days of discovering the fault and should include:

  • Proof of purchase.
  • Product serial number (or photograph of the product identification label) and, for heater claims, the Harvia model and serial number.
  • A description of the fault.
  • Photographs or videos showing the issue.
  • Installation photographs where requested.
  • For any heater, control unit or electrical claim, a copy of the Electrical Installation Certificate (EIC) confirming installation by a qualified electrician in accordance with BS 7671.

Oasis Outdoor Living UK Ltd reserves the right to inspect the product or request additional information before approving any warranty claim. Claims relating to the Harvia heater and control unit are assessed under the Harvia manufacturer's warranty. Where a warranty claim is accepted, Oasis Outdoor Living UK Ltd may authorise a repair or replacement of the defective component at its discretion. Customer-replaceable components may be supplied directly where appropriate. Replacement warranty parts are normally dispatched within 48 hours of an approved claim, subject to stock availability.

Where additional investigation is required, Oasis Outdoor Living UK Ltd reserves the right to appoint an authorised representative or independent inspector to assess the product. Travel or call-out charges may apply where the installation falls outside an authorised retailer's normal service area or where the reported fault is found not to be covered by this warranty.

Warranty Limitations

This warranty applies only to the original purchaser and only while the sauna remains installed at its original domestic installation address within the United Kingdom. The warranty period begins on the original date of delivery. The sauna must be installed, operated and maintained in accordance with the installation, operating and maintenance instructions supplied with the product.

This warranty does not cover defects, failures or damage resulting from:

  1. Normal wear and tear, cosmetic ageing, fading or surface marks.
  2. Natural timber movement, expansion, contraction, splitting, warping, resin bleed, colour change or weathering inherent to a natural material used outdoors.
  3. Failure to treat, seal, oil or otherwise maintain the timber as recommended in the supplied instructions.
  4. Improper installation, relocation or transportation.
  5. Installation or electrical connection of the Harvia heater or control unit by anyone other than a qualified electrician working in accordance with BS 7671, or the absence of a valid Electrical Installation Certificate (EIC).
  6. Misuse, abuse, negligence or accidental damage.
  7. Commercial, rental or public use.
  8. Failure to follow the installation, operating or maintenance instructions.
  9. Exposure to extreme weather, standing water, flooding, freezing, power surges or other events beyond reasonable control.
  10. Repairs or servicing carried out by anyone other than Oasis Outdoor Living UK Ltd, Harvia, or an authorised service representative.
  11. Unauthorised alterations or modifications.
  12. Continued use of the sauna or heater after a fault has become apparent.
  13. The use of non-approved replacement parts or accessories.
  14. Damage occurring during transportation by anyone other than Oasis Outdoor Living UK Ltd or an authorised retailer.

This warranty is limited to defects arising from manufacturing or material faults and does not include labour charges, transportation, crane hire, removal, reinstallation or consequential losses unless required by applicable law. Replacement components supplied under this warranty remain covered only for the unexpired balance of the original warranty period.

Genuine Parts & Accessories

To ensure optimum safety, reliability and long-term performance, only genuine replacement parts and Oasis Outdoor Living approved accessories should be used, and only genuine Harvia parts should be fitted to the Harvia heater and control unit. The use of non-approved replacement parts or accessories may invalidate this warranty where they are found to have contributed to the failure.

Service Commitment

Upon receipt of all required warranty information and supporting documentation, Oasis Outdoor Living UK Ltd aims to acknowledge warranty claims within two working days. Our experienced after-sales team will keep customers informed throughout the warranty process and work to resolve approved warranty claims as quickly as possible.

3. Return Shipping

You are responsible for the cost of returning the goods. We recommend using a tracked, insured service suitable for a large, heavy, palletised item, as the product remains your responsibility until it reaches our warehouse. Please retain your proof of postage.

4. Inspection on Return

Once your return arrives at our warehouse it will be inspected to confirm its condition. We aim to complete this inspection promptly and will keep you informed throughout.

5. Your Refund

  • If, on inspection, the product is returned complete and undamaged in its original condition, we will issue a full refund.
  • If any part of the product is found to be missing or damaged on inspection, the cost of replacing the affected part(s) will be deducted from your refund, and the remaining balance refunded to you.
  • Refunds are issued to the original payment method once the inspection is complete.

6. Faulty, Damaged or Incorrect Goods

This change-of-mind policy is separate from your rights if goods arrive faulty, damaged in transit, or not as described.
