Technical Electrical Brief: Cove Retreat
Requirement: 20 Amp Dedicated Supply
To ensure your Cove Retreat is commissioned and heating is on the day of delivery, the following electrical specifications must be met. This work must be completed by a qualified electrician before our installation team arrives.
Important: Our team will perform the final connection from your isolator to the spa. However, we cannot install the primary circuit, the breaker, or the rotary isolator itself.
1. The Specification (The 20 Amp Standard)
The Cove Retreat utilises a powerful 2-speed pump and a 2kW Stainless Steel heater. A dedicated 20 Amp supply ensures that your water temperature remains stable even when the hydrotherapy jets are running on high speed.

2. Customer Responsibilities: Site Readiness
Please ensure your electrician has completed these three steps before the delivery date:
-
The Rotary Isolator: A waterproof IP65-rated rotary isolator must be installed. For safety, this must be located between 2 and 3 metres away from the hot tub.
-
The "Tail" Cable: Your electrician must provide a length of 3-core 4mm² or 6mm² SWA Armoured Cable connected to the load side of the isolator.
-
Required Length: Please leave 5 metres of spare cable coiled at the isolator. Our team will route this through the Retreat's cabinet to the internal control pack.
-
Certification: Upon completion, your electrician should provide a Minor Works Certificate. Our team will need to verify that the supply is safe before connecting the spa.
3. Why a Dedicated Circuit is Required
The Cove Retreat must not be connected to a standard household "ring main" or via an extension lead.
-
Continuous Load: At peak performance, the Retreat draws more current than a standard 13A socket is designed to handle over long periods.
-
Efficiency: A dedicated circuit prevents the breaker from tripping when the Ozonator, heater, and high-speed jets are all active simultaneously.
4. Arrival Readiness
If our team arrives and the electrical supply is not ready or does not meet these safety standards:
- We will position the spa and install accessories (steps/cover).
- We will not make the electrical connection.
- The spa will remain empty, and a second "Commissioning Visit" fee may be charged to return once the electrics are finalised.
