They wanted to complement their existing modern amenities by installing a traditional, bespoke commercial steam room that would take them back in time. The goal was to capture the profound, "old-school" essence of classic bathhouses—a space that felt deeply rooted in the history of thermal therapy. Our design team was tasked with creating a commercial-grade environment that comfortably accommodates a high volume of guests while delivering a uniquely nostalgic, immersive relaxation experience.
Architectural Harmony: The Spacious Circular Design
To achieve this timeless feel, we moved away from the standard rectangular footprints often found in modern facilities and engineered a breathtaking, fully circular interior.
Communal Spaciousness
The rounded design naturally eliminates harsh corners, creating a smooth, enveloping environment that maximises floor space. This allows multiple guests to use the room simultaneously without ever feeling crowded, offering a communal yet deeply personal thermal experience.
The Mirrored Ceiling
To perfectly complement the curved seating below, the ceiling was expertly crafted to mirror the room's rounded footprint. This architectural symmetry not only looks spectacular but also allows thick, therapeutic steam to roll smoothly down the walls rather than drip abruptly from flat surfaces, ensuring ultimate comfort for guests.
Flawless Classic Tiling
To solidify the traditional aesthetic, the client selected a beautifully intricate, classic tile pattern. Applying a complex geometric pattern across curved walls and a rounded ceiling is a true test of craftsmanship. Our installation team executed this flawlessly, ensuring the pattern remained perfectly consistent across the entire commercial steam room, with absolutely no discrepancies or breaks in the visual flow.
Illuminating the Mist: The Three-Tier Ambient Experience
In luxury commercial steam rooms, lighting is just as important as the steam itself. To give the room a highly therapeutic, five-star feel, we engineered a bespoke "three-tier" lighting system designed to glow beautifully through the dense mist.
The Gentle Cascade of Light
We integrated a continuous, rounded LED light strip beneath the curved benches to create a "floating" effect. This was perfectly matched by a second tier of soft LED lighting positioned just above the luxurious backrests. Finally, a third matching light ring was integrated seamlessly into the rounded ceiling.
A Cocoon of Warmth
When the steam engine is running, this three-tier system diffuses through the mist, filling the room with a soft, glowing, and incredibly luxurious ambience that calms the nervous system instantly.
Restful Dimming on Demand
To give the facility complete control over the mood, we incorporated additional, independent spotlights around the ceiling. If the facility wishes to transition the room into a deeply meditative, ultra-restful state for the evening, the main three-tier system can be turned off, leaving only the soft, dimmable spotlights to pierce the steam.
