Our journey with this client began with a highly specific and exciting vision: transforming a space within their home into a comprehensive, high-end wellness suite. They didn’t just want a sauna; they envisioned a dual-room sanctuary—one side dedicated to the dry, intense heat of a sauna, and the other to the enveloping luxury of a steam room. From our very first consultation, it was clear that this project required a delicate balance of traditional craftsmanship, cutting-edge technology, and deeply personal design touches.
The Sauna: A Three-Tiered Hybrid Haven
The client’s sauna was designed to be a masterclass in hybrid wellness, blending the best of both traditional and modern heating therapies.
Bespoke Personalisation
At the heart of this room is a highly unique, custom-crafted pattern integrated directly into the sauna's woodwork. This bespoke detail was designed to represent something deeply special to the client, ensuring the space wasn't just a luxury amenity, but a personal retreat.
Traditional Craftsmanship
To honour the timeless sauna experience, we utilised premium Thermowood for both the three-tiered benching and the ceiling. This not only provides superior durability and a beautiful, rich aesthetic but also fills the room with the unmistakable, earthy aroma of a traditional Nordic sauna.
Hybrid Heating Technology
The client wanted the flexibility to choose their recovery method. We seamlessly integrated state-of-the-art infrared panels into the design alongside a stunning Harvia Clindro PCX90 heater. This dual setup allows the client to enjoy the deep, muscle-penetrating warmth of an infrared session, or the intense, satisfying heat of a traditional steam-generating sauna—or both simultaneously.
Intelligent Control
To bring this traditional space into the modern era, the entire system is wired to a sophisticated Harvia smart control panel. Whether they are adjusting the settings via the elegant wall-mounted interface or pre-heating the room from their smartphone on the commute home, absolute comfort is always at their fingertips.
The Steam Room: An Ethereal Marble Escape
Stepping out of the sauna and into the steam room, the environment shifts from rustic warmth to sleek, modern elegance.
Seamless Integration
The client already had stunning marble flooring in the adjacent areas of their home. To ensure this new installation felt like a natural, original extension of the property, we meticulously matched the steam room's interior finish to their existing marble.
Illuminating the Senses
Lighting was a paramount request for this space. While the primary lighting offers a clean, bright aesthetic, the true magic happens when the main lights are turned off. We installed a striking, deep blue ambient lighting system that instantly transforms the room, giving it an intensely luxurious, spa-like atmosphere.
The "Floating" Effect
To elevate the sensory experience, we integrated waterproof LED lighting beneath the seating. This casts a soft, downward glow through the steam, creating an illusion that the seats are floating. It provides a grounding yet weightless feel to the room, encouraging total mental relaxation as the physical body unwinds.
On-Demand Comfort
Much like the sauna, the steam room is operated by a dedicated, high-end control panel, allowing the client to adjust the temperature on demand and tailor the steam density to their exact preference.

Our installation team worked meticulously to ensure both rooms were integrated into the home with flawless precision. From the initial structural framing to the final calibration of the Harvia and steam control systems, every element was executed to the highest standard.
