• Wooden Buckets: offer a traditional, authentic look and feel. Wood is a natural insulator, so the bucket remains cool to the touch even in high heat. However, they require more care to prevent drying out.
• Metal Buckets (Stainless Steel / Aluminium): provide a sleek, modern appearance and are incredibly durable. They are easy to clean and often feature wooden handles to ensure they can be picked up safely, as the metal body can become hot.

Wood is a natural material that expands when wet and shrinks when dry.

• The Liner: Most modern wooden buckets come with a plastic insert. This is critical as it protects the wood from direct water contact and prevents leaks.
• Storage: If your bucket does not have a liner, avoid leaving it completely dry for long periods, as the wood may shrink and the bands may loosen. conversely, do not leave it soaking indefinitely as it may grow mould. • Thermometer: Should be installed at head height (approximately 1.5 metres from the floor) on a side wall. Do not place it directly above the heater, as the rising heat plume will give a falsely high reading.
• Sand Timer: Should be mounted on the opposite wall to the heater, also at eye level, so you can easily glance at it while relaxing on the bench.

Sauna stones are sold separately by weight (typically in 20kg boxes) because the quantity required depends entirely on your specific heater model (ranging from 20kg for a wall unit to 100kg+ for a pillar heater). You must check your heater manual to ensure you buy the correct size and type of stone (e.g., split-face Olivine Diabase).

Control units are rarely universal and are usually sold as part of a "heater kit" rather than a general accessory set.

• Compatibility: A control panel must be matched to the specific kilowatt (kW) rating and sensor type of your heater.
• Safety: If you are buying a Wi-Fi enabled control unit, UK regulations require that it is installed with a Door Sensor to prevent the heater from being switched on remotely if the door is open.
