A Redlight Bed (also known as a Photobiomodulation Bed) is a full-body enclosure that delivers therapeutic light energy to the entire skin surface simultaneously. Unlike smaller panels that treat isolated areas (such as the face or back), a bed provides systemic treatment. By immersing the whole body in light, it stimulates cellular energy production (ATP) across every muscle group and organ system, maximising the anti-inflammatory and regenerative benefits in a single 10–20 minute session.

Our Redlight Beds utilise a clinically research-backed "dual-spectrum" approach:

• Red Light (630nm – 660nm): These wavelengths are absorbed by the skin's surface. They are primarily responsible for boosting collagen production, reducing fine lines, and accelerating wound healing.
• Near-Infrared Light (810nm – 850nm): These longer wavelengths are invisible to the naked eye but penetrate deep into the body. They reach muscle tissue, joints, and bone, helping to reduce deep-seated inflammation, speed up recovery after exercise, and alleviate chronic pain.

Yes. While red light is generally considered safe, the sheer intensity (irradiance) of a full-body Redlight Bed is extremely high. To prevent eye strain or temporary visual artefacts, we strongly recommend wearing the blackout goggles provided with the system. This allows you to relax completely during your session without being dazzled by the thousands of high-power LEDs.

For optimal results, consistency is key.

• General Wellness: We recommend 3 to 4 sessions per week.
• Injury Recovery/Pain Management: Daily sessions may be beneficial for short periods during acute recovery phases.
• Duration: Sessions should typically last between 10 and 20 minutes. "More" is not always better; the body has a specific absorption limit, so staying in longer than 20 minutes does not increase the benefits.

No. This is a common misconception. A Redlight Bed is a form of Photobiomodulation (PBM), not thermal therapy. While you may feel a gentle, soothing warmth from the operation of the LEDs and the increased blood flow in your body, the goal is light absorption, not sweating. This makes it a comfortable, "no-sweat" therapy that can be done at any time of day without needing a shower afterwards.

 Due to the high power output (often 5000W+), full-body Redlight Beds cannot usually be plugged into a standard domestic wall socket.

• Installation: You will likely require a dedicated electrical circuit installed by a qualified electrician (similar to an electric cooker or hot tub supply).
• Space: Ensure you have adequate floor space (approx. 2.5m x 1.5m) and ventilation, as the unit's cooling fans require airflow to maintain the LEDs at an optimal operating temperature.

Yes. For the therapy to be effective, the light must have direct contact with your skin. Clothing blocks the light waves, preventing them from reaching your cells. We recommend using the bed completely undressed to ensure maximum absorption and systemic benefits.

Many of our advanced Redlight Beds offer both modes:

• Continuous Wave: The light is emitted constantly. This is generally preferred for superficial skin issues and general wellness.
• Pulsed Wave: The light flickers at specific frequencies (e.g., 10Hz or 40Hz). Research suggests that pulsed light may be more effective for driving light deeper into tissues and helping with specific neurological or pain-related conditions by preventing cellular habituation.
